Independent Medical Evaluation (IME)
Forensic Independent Medical Evaluation (IME)
IME is used during legal cases, often towards proving or disproving cognitive dysfunction. IME may evaluate the extent of cognitive impairment a known or suspected injury or illness has on an individual. Injury may include, for example, brain trauma, exposure to damaging chemicals, and/or exposure to disease linked with cognitive impairment, amongst other complications. The information regarding cognitive change in an IME may be used in legal cases, often regarding suing for damages.
CCAC offers consultation by performing IMEs. CCAC may also provide in person explanation and presentation of IME results, at cost (see Payment to learn more).
